Phase 2 reporting for Open Payments ended July 7, 2014, after CMS extended the submission process due to problems with the portal. Physicians and teaching hospitals are now actively reviewing their data in order to report any disputes before the September 30th public release. With the CMS portal going offline at times, individuals and companies are scrambling to understand the relevant processes and procedures. Tim Robinson, Esq., Chief Knowledge Officer at MMIS, the company behind MediSpend, a market leading aggregate spend compliance solution, will offer his expertise on the dispute and resolution process during a talk next week at the 8th Annual Forum on Transparency and Aggregate Spend in Washington, DC (August 18-20).

Robinson and MMIS president and CEO, Michaeline Daboul, will be at the forum and available to talk to the press about the dispute and resolution process, the initial reporting experience of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, and best practices for not only complying with ongoing regulations, but for managing emerging global compliance and transparency laws, such as Loi Bertrand in France.

The “Clarification of the Dispute Error Resolution Process” workshop will take place from 8AM –12:30PM at the Renaissance Washington DC Downtown Hotel. During this session, Robinson and various experts will provide insight on the important role of reviewing transfers of values and resolving inaccuracies prior to public reporting.
