Newswise — FORT LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. - Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Shepard Broad Law Center, in conjunction with the Nova Law Review and NSU’s Sports and Entertainment Law Society (SELS), are seeking submissions for the 2015 annual Nova Law Symposium to be held Feb.12-13, 2015.

The focus of the conference will be to provide an interdisciplinary review of issues involving business and industry responses to the transformative impact of new media on traditional entertainment and media, including journalism, sports, film, broadcast, gaming, music, and similar areas.

The two-day conference will feature an academic symposium on Thursday, Feb. 12th sponsored by the Nova Law Review and a practice-oriented workshop hosted by SELS on Friday, Feb. 13th. Thursday evening will feature a hosted event showcasing Southern Florida’s thriving arts, entertainment and sports community.

The symposium is an opportunity for academics, practitioners, consultants, and students to exchange ideas and explore emerging issues of law, policy and economic enterprise. Interdisciplinary presentations are encouraged. Authors and presenters are invited to submit proposals on topics relating to the theme, which may include such topics these:

• First Amendment and Defamation• Copyright at the Crossroads• Evolving Technologies• Artists, Creators, Athletes and Actors
