Newswise — Loyola University Medical Center’s heart program has been named to Becker Hospital Review’s 2014-15 list of “100 Hospitals and Health Systems With Great Heart Programs.”

Hospitals on the list “lead the nation in cardiovascular and thoracic healthcare,” Becker’s said. “Many have pioneered groundbreaking programs, treatments or research, and all have received recognition from reputable sources for top-of-the-line patient care.”

Becker’s editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on several rankings and awards, including recognition from U.S. News & World Report, Truven Health Analytics, CareChex, Blue Distinction Center status for cardiac care, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Becker's Hospital Review is a monthly publication offering business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems. Loyola’s Cardiology & Heart Surgery program is the only cardiology program in Chicago to be nationally ranked by U.S. & World Report for 12 years in a row.
