December 10, 2014 – Home Healthcare Now: The Interprofessional Journal for Home Care and Hospice Clinicians announced today a relaunch of the publication. Formerly known as Home Healthcare Nurse, the new name and direction of the journal reflects today’s interprofessional approach to practical clinical care. Home Healthcare Now is the official publication of the Visiting Nurse Association of America, and is published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, a part of Wolters Kluwer Health.
"Our journal's new title reflects a renewed focus on the entire home healthcare team, emphasizing practical knowledge to meet the real-world challenges we encounter every day," comments Editor-in-Chief Maureen Anthony, PhD, RN, McAuley School of Nursing, University of Detroit Mercy. The redesigned Home Healthcare Now acknowledges the wide range of professionals involved in today's home healthcare practice— including nurses, physical and occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, hospice and palliative care clinicians, social workers, geriatric care specialists, wound care clinicians, and others.
Each issue of Home Healthcare Now presents peer-reviewed articles authored by experienced home healthcare clinicians and educators. Regular editorial features includes topics such as "Consult PRN," that answers reader questions on current on issues; "Infection Prevention," an Institute for Safe Medicare Practices column dedicated to preventing medication errors, and a "Focus on Diabetes" column.
