Newswise — (ASTORIA – FEBRUARY 27) – Today leadership from Mount Sinai Queens joined community representatives and elected officials to formally dedicate the Mount Sinai Queens Infusion Center, which treats cancer and blood disorders and now features private infusion bays, a nutrition station, and a totally renovated state-of-the-art interior. An extension of the Tisch Cancer Institute at Mount Sinai, the Center’s medical team can also securely share electronic patient records to help provide timely, comprehensive, high quality care.
“When it comes to providing comprehensive, outpatient cancer care, Mount Sinai is second to none, and this newly renovated Center is just the latest example of our commitment to patients and their families during the most difficult fight of their lives,” said Caryn A. Schwab, Executive Director of Mount Sinai Queens.
The Mount Sinai Queens Infusion Center features seven private infusion bays with ample seating area for family members, flat screen televisions, a secure place for personal belongings, and a patient nutrition area, along with upgraded patient exam rooms. The updated waiting area also features broad bay windows and an open plan interior clad in soothing earth tones.
“Our new Center fills a need for the community by bringing together as many cutting edge cancer treatments available in one, easy-to-access location,” said Howard Greenberg, MD, Director of the Mount Sinai Queens Infusion Center. “The center allows me and my colleagues, including Dr. Che-Kai Tsao and the rest of our expert medical staff to continue to provide a level of cancer care usually seen only in large tertiary care hospitals, right here in Queens.”

Joining Mount Sinai Queens leadership for the dedication event were New York State Senator Michael Gianaris, New York State Assembly Member Aravella Simotas, and New York City Council Members Costa Costantinides and Jimmy Van Bramer, the City Council Majority leader.
