The recent Washington Health Alliance report on hospital sticker price variation identifies Virginia Mason as the lowest-priced hospital by each admission type in the Seattle market. Also, Virginia Mason is 25 percent lower in price than the Washington state average. For example, the statewide average price for a knee or hip replacement is $56,000. At Virginia Mason, the price is 30 percent less at $39,000.
