Newswise — Chicago, IL: (May 18, 2015) The Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association is pleased to announce the introduction of the Fellow of the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (FHOPA) designation, recognizing excellence in oncology pharmacy. Individuals awarded will have demonstrated sustained contributions to HOPA and exceptional performance in oncology pharmacy.

HOPA is issuing a call for applications through September 7, 2015. In order to receive Fellow status, candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years (in totality) of membership in HOPA. With the exception of the Associate level, members from any membership category are eligible for consideration. Candidates will be accepted for Fellow status based upon meeting eligibility criteria.

Additional requirements for the Fellow designation include:• Sustained practice contributions in the field of hematology/oncology pharmacy• Contributions to original research • Participation in volunteer service and/or philanthropic activities • Nomination by two full members of HOPA

The first class of Fellows will be recognized at the HOPA 12th Annual Conference in Atlanta, March 16-19, 2016. Further information including the application, frequently asked questions, and the nominator form can be found at hoparx.org.

HOPA is a nonprofit professional organization formed in 2004 to help oncology and hematology pharmacy practitioners and their associates provide the best possible cancer care.
