Newswise — WASHINGTON – Earlier today, the American Medical Group Association (AMGA) submitted comments to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) making recommendations on the proposed rule for Stage 3 of the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Records Incentive Programs. AMGA comments express concern about the overall readiness of the healthcare information technology infrastructure to accommodate the new requirements for transmission of healthcare data between organizations, in addition to concerns about the increased threshold percentages for meeting measures beginning in 2018. The comments make specific recommendations that would ease the provider burden of meeting requirements for Stage 3.
