Dan Carder is the director of West Virginia University's Center for Alternative Fuels Engines and Emissions, which was contracted to conduct on-road emissions measurements by the International Council on Clean Transportation in 2014.

Arvind Thiruvengadam is a research assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at West Virginia University. He conducted the real-world testing in the study. His research focus is on heavy-duty diesel emissions, combustion and real-world emissions.
