Newswise — WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) announced that Grace Terrell, MD, MMM, President and CEO of Cornerstone Health Care, and Jeffrey W. Bailet, MD, President of Aurora Health Care Medical Group, will serve on the Physician-Focused Model Technical Advisory Committee, which will provide comments and make recommendations to the Secretary of Health and Human Services regarding physician payment models. The Committee was established as part of the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) reform bill that passed Congress earlier this year, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA). Dr. Terrell and Dr. Bailet are American Medical Group Association (AMGA) Board Members and AMGA’s President and CEO previously wrote letters to GAO in support of their nominations.

Dr. Terrell, a doctor of internal medicine, is President and CEO of Cornerstone Health Care, a multispecialty medical group of more than 375 physicians and advanced practice providers in central North Carolina. She is a Director on AMGA’s board. Dr. Terrell received her medical degree from the Duke University School of Medicine.

Dr. Bailet, an otolaryngologist, serves as President of Aurora Health Care Medical Group, a multispecialty medical group consisting of 1,700 physicians, since 2006. He is currently serving as Secretary of the AMGA Board. Dr. Bailet received his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine.
