Bear-human encounters are taking place from Massachusetts to Florida, and in Michigan, Idaho, Colorado and California. A female black bear in Boulder, Colorado, was euthanized last week because she had contact with humans too many times.

Colorado State University's Ken Wilson, a wildlife management expert, is available to talk with reporters about bear-human encounters this week.

Professor Wilson is available Tuesday, Oct. 13, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. and Thursday, Oct. 15, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Mountain time.

Wilson has a doctorate and a master's degree in fisheries and wildlife biology from Colorado State University. He is currently the department head of the Dept. of Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Biology at Colorado State.
