Newswise — PHILADELPHIA—(April 7, 2016)—The Wistar Institute, an international biomedical research leader in cancer, immunology and infectious diseases, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Evans Stacey, Esq., as vice president, general counsel, secretary and government relations.
Stacey joins Wistar with more than 20 years of broad experience as a senior legal executive who managed public and private, small to mid-size companies primarily within the life sciences industry. Most recently, she served as senior vice president, general counsel, human resources and secretary at Antares Pharma, Inc., based in Ewing, N.J. Previously, Stacey served as executive vice president, general counsel, human resources, and secretary at Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, Inc., in Malvern, Pa., and as senior vice president, corporate communications, general counsel and secretary at Aventis Behring, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aventis, predecessor to Sanofi S.A. She began her legal career at King & Spalding in Washington, DC.

In her role at Wistar, Stacey is charged primarily with overseeing contracts, employee affairs, technology transfer and the intellectual property licensing process; assisting with regulatory affairs and compliance; managing litigation matters; and providing legal counsel to Wistar. She also will lead government relations and the corporate secretary function and manage governance issues related to the Board of Trustees.

Stacey graduated magna cum laude with an A.B. from Princeton University and earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C.
