Newswise — The 100th anniversary of the National Park Service this year is occasion for celebrating the spectacular national treasures preserved as national parks and national monuments. Here in Utah, our five national parks and seven national monuments showcase our state’s unique, amazing, and otherworldly geology. University of Utah emeritus professor William Parry is a geologist, outdoorsman, and expert in the history of Utah’s rocks, mountains, and canyons. He recently published a detailed geological history of Utah, “Geology of Utah’s Mountains, Peaks, and Plateaus,” and is available to explain the scientific stories behind Utah’s most stunning landmarks.
