Newswise — The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center brings its signature Making Cancer History® seminar to Raleigh, N.C., for the first time, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, at the McKimmon Conference and Training Center, 1101 Gorman St. Renowned experts from the nation’s No. 1 hospital for cancer care will share recent developments in cancer research, care and prevention.

Presentations will feature:• Andrew Futreal, Ph.D., chair ad interim and professor of Genomic Medicine• Erich Sturgis, M.D., administrative leader, HPV-related Cancers Moon Shot, and professor of Head and Neck Surgery• Anil Sood, M.D., co-director of the Breast and Ovarian Cancers Moon Shot, and professor of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine and Cancer Biology
A question-and-answer session will follow the presentations.
Since MD Anderson opened in March 1944, more than 1 million people have sought care at the institution, including nearly 4,000 North Carolinians. Last year, more than 270 people from North Carolina registered as new patients for diagnostic, treatment or prevention services.
