Newswise — Meridian Health will sponsor a free program on Saturday, June 11, 2016, to help cancer survivors and their loved ones explore ways to live a healthier life during and after cancer treatment. The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Meridian Health Village at Jackson, 27 South Cooks Bridge Road in Jackson, NJ.
Today, millions of people are surviving thirty or more years after their cancer diagnoses. Survivorship begins from the moment a diagnosis is made. The Meridian Cancer Care team helps to empower survivors to live a healthier life during and after cancer treatment. This event has been created to help survivors and their family members build hope and learn more about key topics that may affect them. It is also an opportunity to share experiences and celebrate with others.
Registration opens at 8:30 a.m., with a continental breakfast provided. The program will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will feature several speakers on topics such as integrative health and medicine, intimacy after cancer, palliative care, and a keynote message from cancer survivor and founder/CEO of David’s Dream and Believe Foundation, David Calderella. Lunch will be provided, and participants will have an opportunity to enjoy healthy living activities such as chair yoga, cooking demonstrations, and more.
