Newswise — Reston, VA—Radiologists will learn how to build a successful value-based performance practice at the Radiology Leadership Institute® (RLI) Summit. Registration is open for the fifth annual meeting to be held Sept. 8–11 at Babson College in Wellesley, Mass.

“The RLI Summit is about driving the successful business of radiology while delivering high-quality patient care. Attendees will gain strategies to create value and quantify and get paid for it in everyday clinical practice,” said Frank J. Lexa, MD, MBA, RLI chief medical officer. “At this unique educational venue, recognized radiology and business experts deliver critical knowledge to help attendees create action plans to maximize value,” added the chair of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Commission on Leadership and Practice Development.

With the theme, “Creating Personal and Organizational Value,” the meeting offers in-depth, hands-on facilitated breakout sessions to provide maximum interaction with faculty and attendees. Sessions highlight six topics: how to overcome obstacles to change, build personal branding, make decisions in times of uncertainty, compete through superior operations, transition to a value-added focus and develop negotiation skills.

Leonard A. Schlesinger, DBA, MBA, entrepreneurship expert, Harvard Business School professor and author of the recent book, “What Great Service Leaders Know and Do: Creating Breakthroughs in Service Firms,” will deliver the Sept. 9 keynote address. Schlesinger, who has also served as president of Babson College, will address “What Great Radiology Leaders Know and Do.”

RLI faculty members include Cheri Canon, MD, FACR; Frank J. Lexa, MD, MBA; Geraldine McGinty, MD, MBA, FACR; and Alexander M. Norbash, MD, MHCM, FACR.

The RLI, a program of the American College of Radiology, delivers progressive leadership and business management training and offers real-world strategies for radiologists to grow and advance in practice. A July Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR) Tweet Chat—with RLI faculty—will address value-added services. Overview information is available, along with details about registration, the schedule and related brochure.
