Newswise — Red Bank, NJ – July 7, 2016 – Nicholas Perosi, M.D., interventional radiologist at Riverview Medical Center has been awarded a Certificate of Added Qualification in vascular diagnosis, vascular intervention, and nonvascular intervention by the American Board of Radiology.

An oral assessment proctored by the leaders in interventional radiology, the exam is used to ascertain the qualification of diagnostic radiologists who have studied vascular and interventional radiology. It ensures that the physician has the ability to demonstrate knowledge, problem-solving, and application of those skills to a degree worthy of the public and profession’s trust.

“I am very proud of Dr. Perosi for achieving this success,” says Joseph Reichman, M.D., vice president medical affairs and clinical effectiveness at Riverview. “Having this certification lets patients know that their physician has achieved a prescribed level of excellence in his or her field. This achievement means that patients in need of vascular or interventional radiology are being treated by the best in the business and we are thrilled that Dr. Perosi offers his expertise in the Diagnostic Imaging department at Riverview.”

Throughout the period for which the physician holds certification, they are expected to continue to learn and improve skills in a program that is evaluated annually on a rolling three-year window. The certification is valid for a ten year period, at which time physicians must complete a cognitive examination.

“I am pleased to have been awarded the Certificate of Added Qualification,” say Dr. Perosi. “Not only does it reassure my patients that I am up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of interventional radiology and that I will render high-quality service, it also shows the commitment to my specialty, to Riverview, and to them. Bringing the highest level of expertise that I can is my goal with every patient interaction.”

Dr. Perosi attended Ross University School of Medicine, held an internship at Staten Island University Hospital, completed his residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and received fellowship training at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has been a member of the Riverview Medical Center medical staff since 2014.
