Dr. Goss is the director of the Institute for Economic Inquiry and a professor of economics at Creighton University Heider College of Business where he holds the Jack A. MacAllister Chair in Regional Economics.

Dr. Goss is also director of The Goss Institute for Economic Research in Denver, Colorado, a bipartisan think tank conducting business and economic research and providing innovative, practical recommendations that affect change and public policy. He is a highly respected, nationally-known expert on the mid-American economy who can articulate how regional economic situations can impact the nation or the world – and vice versa.

On today’s jobs announcement Goss offered this analysis:“The June job additions of 287,000 put the Federal Reserve in an unenviable position of deciding which factor should prevail in their interest rate decisions and economic pronouncements, international economic uncertainty or domestic economic strength. The strong June jobs number on top of the fact that the core CPI, which excludes food and energy, rose by 2.2 percent between May 2015 and 2016, and has risen above 2 percent threshold for seven straight months, give the hawks on the Federal Open Market Committee ammunition to push for another rate hike at an upcoming meeting.”
