Cooper, a pioneer in preventive medicine, is the first physician to take the spotlight at A Conversation With a Living Legend®. Forty-five years ago, he coined the word “aerobics,” prompting an international physical fitness movement and inspiring millions to exercise for good health. Today, he is chairman of seven health and wellness companies and The Cooper Institute, a research and education nonprofit, with a second aerobics center at Craig Ranch in McKinney. At age 85 and having logged more than 38,000 miles running, he is revolutionizing health and fitness again, calling on America and the world to Get Cooperized™ and follow his eight steps to living better.

From 2001 until 2003, Phillips was the U.S. permanent representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development under President George W. Bush, ranking as an ambassador in Paris. She was executive director and chairman of the 54th and 55th Presidential Inaugural Committees, respectively. In 2013, she chaired the George W. Bush Foundation dedication events. Born in Arkansas, she has lived the past four decades in Dallas and is widely respected for her community involvement.

Since the event originated in 1990, A Conversation With a Living Legend® in North Texas has raised nearly $15.5 million for MD Anderson. Including the Dallas-Fort Worth area funds raised, this successful format has generated a total of more than $33 million from additional events in Washington, D.C.; Las Vegas, Nev.; Atlanta, Ga.; Houston; and San Antonio.
