AMGA Encourages CMS to Align Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) with other Medicare Programs
Newswise — ALEXANDRIA, VA – The following statement can be attributed to AMGA President and Chief Executive Officer Donald W. Fisher, Ph.D., CAE in response to the comments AMGA submitted to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on the proposed rule regarding the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).
“The PACE program offers the most frail patients the opportunity to benefit from care coordination and interdisciplinary team care. The proposed rule is a chance to align the PACE program with Medicare Advantage and other Medicare programs. We are encouraging CMS to expand the availability of PACE by integrating the program with Medicare Advantage or allowing MA plans to provide PACE-style benefits. Not only would this benefit Medicare and Medicaid patients, it also would help CMS synchronize its rules across the Medicare program.”
