The flooding in Colorado demonstrates the importance of designing a resilient system so people can survive and get back into operation as soon as possible. It is impossible to protect against every weather event (especially a storm of this size), but potential damage should be predicted in advance to prevent destruction and hasten a quick recovery. Villanova University's Robert G. Traver, Ph.D., P.E., WRE, Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Director, Villanova Urban Stormwater Partnership (VUSP) and Director, Villanova Center for the Advancement of Sustainability in Engineering (VCASE)is available to discuss storm water management and flood control as it relates to the Colorado floods.
