Newswise — September 2, 2015 (Waterloo, Ontario, Canada) – Leading researchers from around the globe – including two Nobel Laureates – will explore physics concepts from quantum to cosmos during the upcoming season of Perimeter Institute’s Public Lecture Series, beginning Oct. 7.
Kicking off with a lecture by Perimeter Institute Director Neil Turok, the monthly talks will tackle quantum mechanics, cosmology, dark matter, and other fields at the cutting edge of science. Speakers scheduled for the 2015/2016 season include two Nobel Laureates, two New Horizons Prize-winners, and other top international researchers.
Every talk will be webcast live on Perimeter Institute’s website and through a number of partner organizations. Online viewers can submit questions through Facebook and Twitter (using the hashtag #piLIVE) for speakers to answer during the post-talk Q&A.
“It’s not every day that you get to hear from, and have the chance to interact with, some of the top minds in physics,” says Greg Dick, Perimeter’s Director of Educational Outreach. “This is a great opportunity to learn about the most challenging and exciting concepts researchers are working on, in a format that allows for audience interaction both inside Perimeter’s theatre and online.”
