Zoltan Bedy began thinking about public relations while a radio broadcaster over about a ten-year period between finishing his undergraduate and beginning his graduate studies. He has since found himself moving ever closer to public relations with every turn.
Bedy has been on the communication studies faculty at Oswego State University of New York since 1999. At Oswego, he teaches the full range of courses in the public relations major, including the capstone course, which he developed. He is the adviser to his campus chapter of PRSSA, and is on the PRSA-CNY board and ethics task force.
Before that was news manager and an editor in the Office of News Services at Syracuse University, where he won several writing awards.
Bedy holds a bachelor's degree from Fordham University at Lincoln Center in New York City, as well as a master's degree in Public Communication Studies from the Newhouse School of Public Communications and a doctorate in Social Science from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, both at Syracuse University.
He has presented papers at the annual conferences of the American Association of Public Opinion Research, National Social Science Association, New York State Political Science Association, and Pennsylvania Political Science Association. His primary research interest is the prevailing image of public relations.
