WHAT: Tulane University’s Commencement 2019


WHO: More than 3,000 Tulane University graduates, their families, friends and keynote speaker Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. Honorary degree recipients include civil rights leader U.S. Rep. John Lewis, Emmy and Tony-winning actress Blythe Danner and Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times Executive Editor Dean Baquet. In addition to traditional graduation pageantry, graduates will be sent off in distinct New Orleans style, sporting Tulane Mardi Gras beads and second-lining to live jazz by Dr. Michael White and the Original Liberty Jazz Band. There will also be confetti cannons and more surprises.

WHEN: 9 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019


MORE: Members of the media may park for free, after showing a press pass or Tulane-issued parking pass to the attendant in Garage 6which is located on the Poydras Street side of the Superdome, to the right of Ground Level, Gate A. After parking, the media can enter the Superdome through Ground Level Gate A. A riser with a mult-box will be provided on the floor of the Superdome.
