Newswise — City of Hope experts available to discuss ASH studies

More than 20,000 hematologists, researchers and other medical professionals will attend the American Society of Hematology’s (ASH) Annual Meeting Dec. 3 to 6 in San Diego, Calif. to discuss diagnosis, treatment and prevention of leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other blood disorders. ASH is the world’s largest professional organization dedicated to hematology.

City of Hope experts can also comment on the following studies that will be part of the ASH Press Briefing on Saturday, Dec. 3:

Anthony S. Stein, M.D., director of the City of Hope Leukemia Program, co-director of the Gehr Family Center for Leukemia Research, and clinical professor of Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation, can comment on a study on a novel therapy for acute myeloid leukemia. He is one of the study’s authors.

David S. Snyder, M.D., associate chair of City of Hope’s Department of Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation and professor of hematology & hematopoietic cell transplantation, is a nationally-recognized expert in stem cell transplantation for treating leukemia and a variety of other blood disorders, notably myeloproliferative neoplasms. He can comment on a chronic myeloid leukemia study being presented at ASH.
