Newswise — Schaumburg, Illinois, December 14, 2018— There has always been an inextricable link between medicine and leadership. Whether guiding patients through difficult decisions or running the surgical department of a major hospital, it’s essential that medical professionals are equipped with the communication, business, and decision-making skills to succeed.

That’s why CNS developed the CNS Leadership Institute. This application-based, 12-month curriculum is available to CNS Members at the mid- or senior level. Those selected to participate will study dynamic topics like health system alignment strategies, strategic decision making, and negotiation under the guidance of leading physicians, healthcare executives, and top-ranking business school professors.

The latest curriculum will feature a repository for leadership education content on demand for all CNS members.

Doctors who have a desire to shape the future of neurosurgery by becoming one of its leaders are encouraged to apply soon, as space is extremely limited.

The 2019 Leadership Institute Program will be held May 10–11, 2019, in Rosemont, Illinois.

Applications are now being accepted through January 30, 2019 for the 2019–2020 cohorts at cns.org/leadership, or by emailing Jolinda Opiola at [email protected]
