Newswise — ALEXANDRIA, VA – The American Medical Group Association today announced the appointment of Scott Hines, M.D., as Chair of the AMGA Public Policy Committee. Dr. Hines serves as Chief Quality Officer and Medical Director of Crystal Run Healthcare’s medical specialties division in Middletown, New York.

Dr. Hines is board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. He received his medical degree from Wake Forest University, completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and completed his Endocrinology Fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

AGMA’s Public Policy Committee sets the advocacy and policy agenda for AMGA and works closely with AMGA to advocate for priority issues affecting medical groups; promote policymakers' and lawmakers' awareness of the advantages of practicing in a multispecialty medical group; represent members' interests in related associations and coalitions; and inform and advise members regarding implementation of, and compliance with, enacted and proposed legislation and regulation.

In his role as Chief Quality Officer and Medical Director at Crystal Run Healthcare, he also understands the many challenges in transitioning to a value-based healthcare system.
