Newswise — WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) awarded $147,413 to KickView Corporation to adapt their multi-sensor artificial intelligent (AI) software platform to provide real-time data analysis of passenger flow in the international customs processing areas of airports.
Based in Greenwood Village, Colorado, KickView will adapt their existing software platform, kvSonata, to perform real-time analysis of queue lengths and wait times in the international customs processing areas of airports. KickView’s product aims to collect, process and learn from sensor data in real time, providing the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) a granular view of passenger flow.
kvSonata is a scalable, real-time AI processing framework that leverages multiple sensors to provide detailed event and threat alerts. It also offers a dashboard with simple access to both real-time and historical analysis and alerts.
“KickView’s proposal is to leverage video feeds to perform object detection, tracking, fusion and analytics customized to the customer need,” said Melissa Oh, Managing Director of S&T’s Silicon Valley Innovation Program (SVIP). “Preventing bottlenecks in the queues would enhance the speed and efficacy of CBP customs processing in airports.”
KickView received its Phase 1 award under the SVIP High Fidelity Counting and Measuring of CBP Queues and Service Times at Ports of Entry solicitation.
SVIP is one of the programs and tools available for S&T to fund innovation and engage with private sector partners to advance homeland security solutions. Companies participating in SVIP are eligible for up to $800,000 of non-dilutive funding over four phases to develop and adapt commercial technologies for homeland security use cases.
