Newswise — Celebrating great design, sustainability and exciting progress at university research parks worldwide, the Association of University Research Parks (AURP) will host their Architectural Showcase at BioParks 2011, in Washington, D.C. June 25-26, 2011.

University research, science and biotechnology park executives will convene prior to the BIO International Convention to address the future of research parks and to see the cutting-edge park projects being developed around the world.

“BioParks 2011 will be held at the headquarters of the American Institute of Architects,” said AURP Chief Executive Officer Eileen Walker. “There couldn’t be a better place to feature great tech design.”

Exciting examples of outstanding design will set the stage for keynote speakers Charles Holliday, Jr., Chairman Emeritus of the Council on Competitiveness and the Chairman of Bank of America, Thomas Watkins, President and Chief Executive Officer of Human Genome Sciences and Dr. Moira Gunn, host of BioTech Nation, among others.

“University research, science and technology parks are home to new technologies, strong partnerships and cutting-edge research,” said AURP President Harold Strong. “BioParks 2011 will showcase these innovative communities and provide the tools and resources for others to develop their own successful communities of innovation.”

AURP is accepting submissions for consideration of inclusion through June 10, 2011. For entry fees and registration information, visithttp://bioparks.aurp.net/page/ArchitecturalShowcase.
