Emily Roland is a marine geologist who studies the physics of subduction zones and offshore faults. She is a principal investigator on the Alaska Amphibious Community Seismic Experiment, a current effort to monitor and better understand seismic activity on the Alaska Peninsula.

Her research focus areas include subduction-zone margins like the Cascadia and Alaska subduction zones, and Pacific mid-ocean ridges.
