New research shows that a simple device called the MitraClip can treat patients with heart failure, reducing risk for hospitalization by half and deaths by nearly 40%.
University of Utah Health physicians are available to comment on the device, the study, and the potential for a new heart failure treatment for millions of patients. Currently, U of U Health physicians use the device to treat a different condition, degenerative mitral regurgitation.
