Newswise — The White House is expected to issue a new U.S. National Space Policy (NSP), one that establishes an overarching national policy that governs the conduct of U.S. civil, commercial and military uses of space.

This NSP will provide guidance on the use of space for the nation’s security, economic, civil and environmental well-being. It will supersede the last U.S. National Space Policy directive issued in 2006 by President George W. Bush.

Following the official release of the NSP, experts from the Secure World Foundation (SWF) are prepared to offer comment and reactions to President Obama’s new national space policy.

Several SWF resources are also being made available that offer insight into the shaping of U.S. space policy.
