Hosted by Argonne National Lab, this live interview on Tuesday, August 27th at 1:00 included Argonne physicist Katrin Heitmann and The University of Chicago's Kyle Chard in a discussion about the challenges inherent in simulating an evolving universe.

Dr. Heitmann's team used Globus to transfer the three of the largest cosmological simulations to date (2.9 petabytes of data) from Oak Ridge’s Summit supercomputer from tape to disk using Globus. The transfer included three different simulations comprising three different scenarios of the formation of the Universe. Heitmann discussed the challenges of this research, and Chard explained how Globus reliably transfers data to the scientific community.
