Newswise — Dr. Antonello Bonci, a world-renowned neuroscientist and pioneer of innovative brain stimulation techniques, will leave his position of 9 years as Scientific Director of NIDA to be a founder and president of the Global Institutes on Addictions (GIA) in Miami, Florida.  Dr. Bankole Johnson, co-founder and executive chairman of GIA, said, “this is a monumental step for GIA, and for the global future of addiction research and treatment."

The GIA, founded to deliver the best science to practice in addiction medicine, will be at the forefront of treatment for substance use disorders and will open in the first quarter of 2020.
