Newswise — On July 10, Hackensack Meridian Health Jersey Shore University Medical Center Foundation’s 34th Annual Golf Classic raised a record-breaking amount, bringing in more than $570,000 in support of cardiovascular care and other programs and services at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. The sold out golf outing was chaired by Robert Mullen, CEO of Structure Tone Organization, and vice-chaired by Burt Barham, Jr., project manager of The Barham Group and Robert Smith, CEO of The Allied Group. The tournament took place at Deal Golf and Country Club and Hollywood Golf Club where more than 260 golfers participated in support of Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

“We are extremely grateful for everyone who came out to golf,” shares Mullen. “Jersey Shore University Medical Center continues to make tremendous advancements and serves as the region’s leading provider of cardiac services. By supporting this event, you help to ensure we all have access to quality care when we need it the most.”

Jersey Shore University Medical Center is home to a dedicated CardioVascular Intensive Care Unit, and one of the largest cardiac catheterization labs in the tri-state area. To continually enhance services, construction will begin soon on a new Cardiac Surgery Operating Room and Electrophysiology Lab.

“Our experienced surgeons, cardiologists and nurses perform the most complex procedures with outcomes that rival the nation's best medical centers,” shares Kenneth N. Sable, M.D., MBA, FACEP, president of Jersey Shore University Medical Center and K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital. “We are able to orchestrate excellence in cardiac care because we have a dedicated philanthropic community behind us.”

During the event reception, a grateful patient and expectant mother of twins, Julie Sica, shared a heartfelt testimony to the life-saving treatment she received in the health network and the collaborative care delivered through Jersey Shore University Medical Center’s new cardio-oncology program, one of the first of its kind in the state, to be housed in the new HOPE Tower. Julie’s story made the event especially meaningful.

The Golf Classic was generously sponsored by Title Event Sponsors, Peter and Tatiana Cancro and L.F.
