Linnea Laestadius joined UW-Milwaukee in 2013, after serving as a fellow with the Center for a Livable Future at John Hopkins University. There, she began exploring technology as a means of facilitating health and behavioral change, with a particular interest in tobacco use.

She can comment on the proposed FDA regulation of e-cigarettes and flavored vaping products. Also, she can discuss the tobacco industry aggressive marketing of tobacco products to minority youth, why JUULs are wildly popular with teens, and how social media perpetuates the “normalization” of vaping. She recently conducted a study of how vaping is characterized on Instagram.
