Saturday, April 20, marks three years since the explosion on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig that triggered a massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. USC Biology professor James Morris, who is also director of the Belle W. Baruch Institute for Marine and Coastal Sciences, has served on a National Research Council committee examining the effects of the disaster on the ecosystem in the Gulf.
