Newswise — Earlier this week, members of the Lakewood BlueClaws visited with the littlest patients at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and handed out autographed baseballs. Each baseball season, members of the Lakewood BlueClaws take time out of their busy baseball season schedules to spend time with the patients at the Children’s Hospital. Along with patient visits, the Lakewood BlueClaws, in partnership with Meridian Pediatric Network, now a member of the Hackensack Meridian Health family, offer Doctor Bernard’s Kid Zone, which is located on the third base concourse at First Energy Park in Lakewood, NJ. Doctor Bernard’s Kid Zone offers a massive, 22-foot slide, moon bounces, bungee runs, and an obstacle course. Everything is open from the time the gates to the ballpark open one hour prior to the game, until the later inning of that day's ballgame.

Meridian Pediatric Network is a comprehensive lineup of doctors, nurses, caregivers, and services that provide seamless coordination for children through every step of an injury or illness, offering more subspecialty care and expertise than any other program in the region. The network extends from prevention and wellness to diagnosis and treatment through rehabilitation and recovery. Here, everything your child needs happens in synch at the expert hands of specialists who treat each child as one of their own.
