The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded a grant of $548,273 to Dennis Wykoff, PhD, the Dennis M. Cook Gregor Mendel Chair in Genetics in the Department of Biology in Villanova University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, to support his research project in the College.
The zone of overlap between two popular, closely related backyard birds is moving northward at a rate that matches warming winter temperatures, according to a study by researchers from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Villanova University, and Cornell University. The research was published online in Current Biology on Thursday, March 6, 2014.

Maggitti, PhD, as The Helen and William O'Toole Dean of the Villanova University School of Business (VSB), effective June 1, 2012. When the Villanova University men’s basketball team takes on Seton Hall University Jan. 18 at The Pavilion, the teams will be playing for more than just a victory. Villanova and Seton Hall will join forces with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) in “Playing for Peace.” The Playing for Peace initiative, “Stay with Sudan: Build a Future,” aims to harness the power of college athletics, in order to shine a light on the Sudanese people who remain at risk of violence, hunger, displacement and human suffering.
