The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is part of an international research cohort that has received about $2.35 million in funding from the Department of Defense to investigate the use of social cyber forensics to understand covert online influence. UA Little Rock will receive $691,339 for its part of the project, which began in February and will conclude in 2025.

The Arkansas Department of Corrections has awarded the University of Arkansas at Little Rock a multi-year contract of more than $453,000 to study and assess prison culture and climate in Arkansas. At the end of the study, UA Little Rock will provide a final report with conclusions and recommendations about each unit in the prison system, a review of the educational programming throughout the system, recommendations with corresponding best practices for DOC administration, and recommendations to improve the culture and climate throughout the system.

At 73, Carolyn Wilkerson has completed her lifelong dream of earning a bachelor’s degree. Wilkerson joined UA Little Rock in 2016, fulfilling a promise she made to herself many years ago. Having graduated from Little Rock’s Horace Mann High School in 1965, Wilkerson is the third of her high school classmates who have graduated from UA Little Rock in recent years.

The Sequoyah National Research Center at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock has created a website and touchscreen table that brings the journey of American Indians who traveled through Arkansas on their way to Indian Territory to life. The center has completed a two-year research project, “Journey of Survival: Indian Removal Through Arkansas,” that includes a website and interactive touchscreen table that visually maps the journey of American Indians who journeyed through Arkansas after the Indian Removal Act of 1830.

The Arkansas Economic Development Institute (AEDI), based at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, has developed an interactive COVID-19 data dashboard that tracks the social and economic impact of COVID-19 on Arkansas. The dashboard will provide Arkansans access to timely and relevant information on how the virus affects their employment, mental health, food security, economic security, education, and other critical indicators.
