Scientists at Fermilab use the MINERvA detector to study neutrinos' interactions with atomic nuclei. This picture, taken during the construction of the MINERvA detector, shows a target with which the beam of neutrinos interacts. This target comprises carbon (top half of hexagon), iron (diamond shape) and lead (small triangle).
