In cells that partially mimic Alzheimer's disease, the sensor protein clumps (cell in the middle, green dots), indicating a disruption in protein quality control. In addition, deposits of misfolded proteins, characteristic of Alzheimer’s disease, are seen in purple. Nuclei are stained blue.
