MSU expert available to speak about unmanned systems
Newswise — STARKVILLE, Miss.—A Mississippi State University professor of electrical and computer engineering and expert in unmanned aircraft systems will take part in a NOAA media briefing hosted by the American Meteorological Society Thursday [July 14]. Media are invited to learn about revolutionary ways scientists collect observations used to save lives and property and better manage valuable natural resources.
Robert J. Moorhead II is the director of the Northern Gulf Institute at Mississippi State University. He also directs the Geosystems Research Institute and is a professor in MSU’s Bagley College of Engineering. Moorhead has led visualization research and development efforts in support of many geospatial problems (physical oceanography, disposal of dredged materials, coastal/severe weather, etc.). Over the past five years, he has developed an unmanned aerial systems program focused on research on precision agriculture and natural resources.
