Mount Sinai’s Mitral Valve Repair Center Website Honored With Top Marketing Awards

Newswise — (NEW YORK – December 3, 2018)For the 10th year in a row, Mount Sinai Health System’s Mitral Valve Repair Center received honors at the Annual eHealthcare Leadership Awards, announced at the 2018 Healthcare Internet Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Repair Center’s website, www.mitralvalverepair.org, received 10 Platinum Awards, the highest level of recognition possible, and the Mitral Foundation website, www.mitralfoundation.org, received two Platinum Awards.

The awards included Best Care/Disease Management website, Best Healthcare Content, and Best Overall Internet Site. Links to the complete list can be found below.

This is the second time the Mitral Valve Repair Center has received Platinum eHealthcare Leadership Awards recognition. It follows the Center website’s designation as a 2018 Webby Honoree for Best Health Website in The Webby Awards earlier this year, and its receipt of two Gold W3 Awards last month.

“This is a remarkable achievement and brings great honor to our Mitral Valve Repair Center and Mount Sinai,” said David L. Reich, MD, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Mount Sinai Hospital.

“Our goal every year is to provide an educational internet resource that will serve our patients and their families as they learn about mitral valve disease and treatment options. To be judged by our peers as among the best health care websites is very rewarding,” said Gideon Sims, Senior Director of Digital Marketing at Mount Sinai Heart, who launched and has managed the Mitral Valve Repair Center website since 2006.

The eHealthcare Leadership Awards program recognizes the very best websites and digital communications efforts of a wide range of health care organizations. Winners of platinum, gold, silver, and distinction awards represented 17 industry classifications, from hospitals and health systems to pharmaceutical firms and online health companies. A total of 109 health care digital marketing experts judged the entries. Judges looked at how websites and other digital communications compared with others in the organization’s classification. They also reviewed entries based on a proprietary multi-point standard of digital excellence.

Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, is the leading international awards organization honoring excellence on the Internet.

The W3 Awards are sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms.
