NATION'S TOP SPECIALISTS ON PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF WOMEN'S CANCERS TO MEET FEBRUARY 7-11, 1998

IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA

What: The Society of Gynecologic Oncologists (SGO) is a non-profit, international organization of obstetricians-gynecologists who specialize in treating women with cancers of the ovary, uterus, cervix, vagina, vulva and fallopian tubes. These women's healthcare specialists have extensive training in providing gynecologic cancer care to women, including surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other innovative approaches that enhance patient care.

Who: More than 800 gynecologic oncologists and other medical specialists will attend the 29th Annual SGO Meeting at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida February 7-11, 1998.

Why: The SGO Annual Meeting provides a forum for the nation's top gynecologic oncologists to present the latest advances in the diagnosis and treatment of women's reproductive cancers.

When: On February 7-11, 1998, Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort in Orlando will be the Where: site of the SGO seminars, scientific presentations and poster displays, as well as the launch of the Women's Cancer Network, a new interactive risk assessment website for gynecologic cancers.

Members of the media are invited to attend the SGO Annual Meeting.

Information regarding findings of medical and scientific research will be provided to the media prior to the meeting on an embargoed basis.

-- Significant new findings will be presented regarding screening for cervical cancer, vaccine therapy for ovarian cancer, clinical outcomes after chemotherapy and treatment after radical hysterectomy.

-- Information regarding selected scientific presentations will be provided in separate news releases.
