Tim Bono offers sound advice about where people go wrong when setting New Year’s resolutions.

Wait a few months, said Bono, assistant dean for assessment in Student Affairs and lecturer in Psychological & Brain Sciences in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis.

“Maybe we need to disabuse ourselves of the idea that Jan. 1 is the best time to make resolutions,” he said, offering up a new tradition: Spring renewal.
