Newswise — The nominations are in and the stage is set for An Evening with the Stars, the annual sparkling celebration of all that is good about Johns Hopkins Nursing. Its Shining Star Awards honor outstanding nurses in the Hopkins community. Nominees are invited to the event and winners are announced at the ceremony. Candace Dold of WBFF, Fox 45 will emcee.
Shining Star categories this year once again include Student Nurse and Faculty Nurse from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and Hospital Nurse (two awardees) from the Johns Hopkins-affiliated hospitals: All Children’s Hospital (in St. Petersburg, FL), Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Howard County General Hospital, Sibley Memorial Hospital, Suburban Hospital, and The Johns Hopkins Hospital. New this year is a category for Preceptor. In addition, the Cynthia and Peter Rosenwald Star Nurse of the Year Award (also announced at the event) recognizes a critical care nurse at Hopkins Hospital who goes above and beyond the call of duty in providing compassionate and competent care.
