Newswise — BOWLING GREEN, O.—This year’s off-season election is anything but quiet in Ohio thanks to Issue 2. On Nov. 8, voters will decide on the controversial law, introduced by Gov. John Kasich and originally passed by the Legislature as Senate Bill 5. The measure restricts the collective bargaining rights of the state’s public workers by changing what’s open for negotiations.
Dr. Melissa Miller, associate professor of political science, is available to discuss the political implications of Issue 2 and how it may affect the 2012 election year.
Miller is a specialist in American politics whose work examines the political behavior of the U.S. electorate and the role of the media in informing it. Her research and teaching interests include American politics, American government, gender and politics, political participation and political behavior.
