Newswise — Sacramento State Physical Therapy Professor Rafael Escamilla was part of the Olympic medical commission for research and went to two Olympics (1996 in Atlanta and 2000 in Sydney) on medical research grants to study the biomechanics of baseball pitching and the tennis serve. He published the results of his research in scientific journals, and is currently attending the Olympics in Rio (for fun this time). He has also done a lot work in strength, conditioning, and nutrition for elite athletes.
