Article title: Proteome analysis of human adipocytes identifies depot-specific heterogeneity at metabolic control points
Authors: Arthe Raajendiran, Christoph Krisp, David P. De Souza, Geraldine Ooi, Paul R. Burton, Renea A. Taylor, Mark P. Molloy, Matthew J. Watt
From the authors: “This study sought to determine the proteomes of patient-matched visceral, abdominal subcutaneous and glutealfemoral adipocytes. Using recent advances in proteomics technology, we identified 4,220 proteins in adipocytes, which enhanced the known proteome coverage of human adipocytes by ~1.5 fold.”
This study is highlighted as one of June’s “best of the best” as part of the American Physiological Society's APSselect program.
